I’ve been anxiously waiting to share this stunning and unique engagement session in Truckee, California for so many reasons. From this gorgeous and madly-in-love couple, to the badass vintage car, to what has to be one of the most beautiful engagement photo locations in Northern California. When Alexis and Nick reached out to me with a vision for their quintessentially cool California engagement session, I knew we were the perfect fit. I had the best time capturing these two and in honor of their wedding this week, I’ll be sharing all the details from their adorable engagement session in this post. Vintage Car Engagement Photos

Of course Alexis and Nick were the stars of the show during their engagement session, but the cherry red vintage car has to be a close second. The car belongs to Alexis’s dad and makes the perfect centerpiece for our session. I always love when couples incorporate some sort of prop into their engagement photos, especially one that speaks to them as a couple. What’s great about vintage car engagement photos is that they give us so many options to choose from in terms of posing. Plus, there are so many fun little details we can capture. And let’s be honest, it’s just such a sexy and cool concept for an engagement shoot! When you choose and theme or prop for your session that speaks to who you are as a couple or a special memory that you have together, you truly can’t go wrong.

Truckee Engagement Session Locations

Next, let’s talk about this beautiful mountain town location in Northern California. Truckee is located just north of Lake Tahoe nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s a great place to avoid the hustle and bustle of Lake Tahoe (especially in the summertime), but still take advantage of the natural beauty that the mountains of Northern California has to offer. Luckily for Alexis and Nick, they had access to a gorgeous private residential neighborhood where we ended up doing their shoot. We took full advantage of all the beautiful spaces throughout the neighborhood from the cutest rustic bridge to a light-filled meadow and a small dock overlooking the lake. It ended up giving so much variety in their photos and allowed us to play around with different settings, lighting and vibes. I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out!

Alexis + Nick’s Wedding Day

What’s also unique about Alexis and Nick’s session is how close we shot to their wedding day. We were able to capture these photos just a few weeks before they plan to tie the knot in early July which honestly made for such a special experience. Having your engagement shoot is such an exciting moment that puts you in the mode to get married! So I love the idea of having them back to back. Not to mention, your engagement photos will help you loosen up and get comfortable in front of the camera for your big day. I’m beyond excited to celebrate with these two this weekend, I know it’s going to be the most beautiful day!
